Coronavirus Cases in Iran Exceed 267,000
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Health Ministry’s spokeswoman, Sima Sadat Lari, said on Thursday that the total number of the coronavirus cases in the country has reached 267,061.
“With 198 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the virus has reached 13,608. Unfortunately, we had 2,500 new cases since yesterday,” Lari said on state TV.
She also put the number of those who have so far recovered from the viral infection at 230,608.
According to the spokeswoman, more than 2,073,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The coronavirus outbreak has infected over 13.7 million people around the world. The global death toll from the pandemic is now more than 587,000.
