US Opposition to Iran-China Deal Proves It’s Right: Envoy
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna described the US’ opposition to a long-term cooperation agreement between Iran and China as a testimony to the correct decision made by Tehran and Beijing.
“The opposition from the US and its allies reveals that launching bilateral and strategic long-term cooperation with China, which would benefit both nations (Iran and China), is a correct and wise decision,” Kazem Gharibabadi said in a post on his Instagram page on Saturday.
Taking a swipe at the US for imposing cruel and illegal sanctions against Iran and adopting the policy of maximum pressure, he said Iran should take maximum advantage of the opportunities available in the international arena to counter the US sanctions.
One of the approaches the Islamic Republic can adopt is to form alliances and launch strategic and long-term cooperation with others while protecting its interests and national security, Gharibabadi added.
The ambassador also hailed China for standing against the US’ unilateralism and expansionism and for opposing the anti-Iranian measures in international organizations.
This is natural for the US and its proponents to make desperate attempts to keep Iran economically isolated and prevent its trade ties with other countries, he said.
