IPL: Shahin Relegated, Tractor, Sepahan Emerge Victorious
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Shahin Bushehr football team was relegated from the Iran Professional league (IPL) with one game remaining, while Tractor and Sepahan defeated their rivals on Saturday.
Shahin, who had secured its promotion last year, was relegated to First Division (Azadegan league) following a 3-1 defeat to Sanat Naft in Abadan.
In Tehran, Esteghlal and Paykan shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. The Blues remain in second place on goal difference.
In Tabriz derby, Tractor defeated Machine Sazi and sits third behind Esteghlal.
Sepahan earned a vital 2-0 win over Shahr Khodro in Mashhad and has a chance to become IPL runner-up next week.
Nassaji played out a goalless draw against Zob Ahan in Ghaemshahr.
Gol Gohar drew 3-3 with 10-man Persepolis in Sirjan, Saipa finished in a 0-0 draw against Naft Masjed Soleyman and Foolad was held to a goalless draw against Pars Jonoubi.
