Coronavirus: Iran's Official Death Toll Passes 23,900
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian Health Ministry spokeswoman, Sima Sadat Lari, said on Friday that the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 416,198 and the death toll is above 23,900.
“With 144 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the virus has reached 23,952. Unfortunately, we have had 3,049 new cases since yesterday,” Lari said on state TV.
She also put the number of those who have so far recovered from the viral infection at 355,505.
The coronavirus outbreak has infected over 30.3 million people around the world. The global death toll from the pandemic is now more than 951,000.
