Esteghlal Moves Top of Iran Professional League
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Estefglal defeated 10-man Shahr Khodro 2-0 on Sunday to move top of the Iran Professional League (IPL).
Sobhan Khaghani was on target in the 12th minute and Mohammad Daneshgar doubled the advantage before the half time.
Shahr Khodro midfielder Erfan Masoumi was sent off in the 25th minute for a harsh tackle.
Tractor, headed by Masoud Shojaei, edged past Machine Sazi 1-0 in Tabriz derby.
Mehdi Ghanbari scored the goal in the dying moments of the match.
Esteghlal moved up top of the IPL table with 11 points. Sanat Naft is second on goal difference.
