Iran Eyes Closer Ties with Cuba
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The president of Iran voiced the country’s willingness to expand relations with Cuba in various fields in a congratulatory message to his Cuban counterpart.
In a Thursday message to Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the Cuban government and nation on the anniversary of victory of the revolution.
Rouhani also expressed hope that the relations between Tehran and Havana would grow in all fields of mutual interest in light of joint efforts and employment of the existing capacities.
The Iranian president also wished the Cuban leader and nation success and prosperity.
Cuba celebrates the 62nd anniversary of the revolution triumph on January 1.
The Cuban Revolution was an armed rebellion conducted by Fidel Castro's revolutionary 26th of July Movement and its allies against the authoritarian government of Fulgencio Batista that resulted in victory on January 1, 1959.
