Peace Affairs Ministry Official Targeted in Car Bomb Explosion in Kabul

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A car bomb exploded on Monday morning at Kabul PD10, near the office of Saadat Mansoor Naderi, Afghanistan's Minister of State for Peace Affairs.

Security officials said the blast targeted an armored vehicle that belonged to Khushnood Nabizadeh, head of Naderi's office in Kabul.

"Damage caused by car bomb blast today Nabizadeh, Director of Saadat Mansoor Naderi's Office, Minister of State for Peace Affairs," TOLO News reported in a tweet.

The incident happened at around 7:26 am local time in the Shaheed roundabout in Kabul' PD10 after Nabizada’s vehicle hit by an IED, the security forces said.

Kabul police confirmed the blast but did not provide further details about it.

Nabizada and two of his children were in the vehicle when the blast happened, but none of them were hurt, his relatives said.

Nabizada is also founder of the Khaama Press, an online news agency in Afghanistan.

In another incident, a civilian and a security force member were killed in a blast on an army vehicle in Kabul's PD7 on Monday, TOLO News reported citing a police statement.

"Kabul police confirmed that one civilian and one security force member were killed in a blast on an army vehicle in Kabul's PD7 and another security force member was wounded," TOLO News said in a tweet.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for either explosions.
