Over 7,500 New Coronavirus Cases Reported in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry reported 7,506 new COVID-19 cases in the country on Thursday.

Sima Sadat Lari, the ministry’s spokeswoman, said with the detection of 7,506 new cases since Wednesday noon, the total number of coronavirus cases in Iran has reached 1,830,823.

She put the number of those who died of the disease over the past 24 hours at 97, saying it brings the total death toll to 62,142.

According to Lari, nearly 1.57 million coronavirus patients have so far recovered from the disease or have been discharged from hospitals in Iran.

The spokeswoman also said more than 12.4 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in the country so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 125.5 million and the death toll is nearing 2.76 million.
