Bahrain Beats Syria 3-1 in Friendly
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Bahrain national football team defeated Syria 3-1 in a friendly match on Thursday as part of preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification.
Ismael Abdullatif (two goals) and Mohammed Marhoon scored for the host and Mohammed Osman was on target for Syria from the penalty spot.
Bahrain has been chosen to stage the matches in Group C, which includes Iraq, Iran, Hong Kong and Cambodia, from May 31 until June 15.
Bahrain is in second place on nine points, behind Iraq which tops Group C with 11 points.
