Iran Reports 200 COVID-Related Deaths in 24 Hours

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The coronavirus pandemic has claimed the lives of 78,194 people so far, with 200 more Iranians succumbing to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Friday.

Over the last 24 hours, 11,250 new cases of COVID-19 infection were detected, 1,532 of whom required hospitalization, according to the ministry.

Some 2,304,824 patients have recovered or have been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 2,815,882 infected people with 5,015 of them in critical condition in intensive care units, it said.

The ministry added that 18,683,814 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out across the country so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 165 million and the death toll has exceeded 3.44 million.
