IPL: Persepolis Defeats Zob Ahan, Esteghlal Victorious over Sanat Naft
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team defeated Zob Ahan 2-1 in the Iran Professional League, while Esteghlal kept its title hopes alive with a late 1-0 win over Sanat Naft.
In Fooladshahr’s Stadium, Persepolis battled back to beat Zob Ahan 2-1.
Sina Asad Beigi scored for Zob Ahan in the 34th minute and substitutes Shariyar Moghanlou and Mehdi Abdi were on target twice for Persepolis in the second half.
Persepolis moves top of the table with 48 points but sits behind Sepahan due to its inferior goal difference.
Esteghlal edged past 10-man Sanat Naft in Abadan, thanks to Arman Ramezani’s late goal. Esteghlal moved up to third place with 37 points and one game in hand.
Foolad was held to a 1-1 draw by Tractor in Ahvaz. Sasan Ansari scored for Foolad but Abolfazl Razzaghpour cancelled out his goal.
