Iran Reports Nearly 10,000 New COVID-19 Cases
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry said some 10,000 new coronavirus cases have been detected in the country since Wednesday noon.
The ministry’s public relations office said on Thursday that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has reached 2,875,858 after the detection of 9,994 new cases over the past 24 hours.
It said the infectious disease took the lives of 165 people since yesterday, bringing the total death toll to 79,384.
According to the ministry, more than 2,396,540 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.
It also said that over 19.4 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and more than three million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
Worldwide, the number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 169 million and the death toll has exceeded 3.5 million.
