Foolad Wins Iran’s Hazfi Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foolad football team claimed Iran’s Hazfi Cup for the first time ever after defeating Esteghlal in a penalty shootout Sunday night.
After playing a goalless draw in 120 minutes, Foolad beat Esteghlal 4-2 on penalties.
Esteghlal is the most decorated team in the competition, winning the title seven times, followed by Persepolis with six titles.
The competition was founded in 1975.
