Iran’s Mansour Pourmirzaei Earns Silver in Powerlifting in Tokyo 2020
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian super heavyweight powerlifter Mansour Pourmirzaei won a silver medal in the 2020 Paralympic Games on Monday.
Pourmirzaei managed to lift 241kg and won the silver medal.
Jordanian athlete Jamil El Shebli also lifted 241kg but was awarded the gold medal due to his lighter body weight.
Faris Al-Ageeli from Iraq won the bronze medal with a 228kg lift.
Pourmirzaei sealed the fifth medal for Iranian powerlifting team in Tokyo.
Rouhollah Rostami (-80kg) won a gold medal. Amir Jafari (-65kg) and Hamed Solhipour (-97kg) claimed two silvers, and Saman Razi (-107kg) managed to claim a bronze.
