EU's Deputy Foreign Policy Chief to Visit Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Enrique Mora, the Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service for Political Affairs, will visit Tehran on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh said.

The Iranian spokesman said the senior EU diplomat’s visit to Tehran will go ahead on Thursday as previously planned.

Khatibzadeh said the trip follows consultations between the two sides on issues of mutual interest, including Iran-EU relations, Afghanistan, and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Consultations and contacts between the two sides have never been halted and are ongoing on different issues, and the upcoming trip also takes place in the same framework, the foreign ministry spokesman noted.
