Nearly 4,000 COVID Patients at Hospital ICUs in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Of the patients diagnosed with the coronavirus infection in Iran, around 4,000 are in the intensive care units of hospitals.

More than 4,180 victims of COVID-19 in Iran are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

The death toll from the pandemic in Iran has risen to 125,519, as 156 more Iranians have succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours.

Over the last 24 hours, 9,096 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 1,277 of them hospitalized.

The Health Ministry said more than 5,443,200 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 5,877,456 sick people.

It also said that more than 51.45 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 30.95 million have received the second dosage.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 244 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.97 million.
