Iran Urges OIC’s Action against Normalization of Israel Ties
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry called for the employment of the capacities of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take action against the Zionist regime’s acts of aggression and defy the process of normalization of ties with that regime.
In comments on Wednesday, Saeed Khatibzadeh said Iran is ready to establish close and fraternal cooperation with the new OIC secretary general, based on the principle of guaranteeing equal opportunities for full and free activity and participation of all members within the framework of the OIC Charter.
Congratulating Hussein Ibrahim Taha on his post as the new OIC secretary general, the spokesman said, “Thanks to the fact that the OIC has great capacities to achieve the unity of the Islamic Ummah and the pure and sublime principles and values of Islam, we hope to see a significant growth in these efforts and its tangible achievement in securing the common interests of the Islamic Ummah and governments.”
“Regarding the issue of Palestine and fighting against the Zionist regime’s aggressive actions in confiscation of Palestinian assets, it is necessary to use the OIC capacities aiming to confront the normalization of ties with Zionist regime and to overthrow the Zionist regime by strengthening unity among the OIC member states,” Khatibzadeh added, the Iranian government’s website reported.
