Iran Condemns US, UK Strikes on Yemen

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry vehemently condemned the fresh attacks that the American and British military forces have launched against Yemen’s capital Sana’a.

In comments on Wednesday, the director general for the Persian Gulf Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran strongly condemned the extensive attacks by the US and UK on multiple areas of Sana'a.

Mohammad Ali-Bek described the strikes as support for the ongoing crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza.

He added that the repeated military aggressions by the US and UK on Yemeni soil are clear violations of international laws and the United Nations Charter, as well as a blatant assault on Yemen's national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Iranian diplomat attributed all the conflicts and attacks in West Asia to the continuation of the Zionist regime's genocidal policies in Gaza, the ministry’s website reported.

He once again warned of the negative consequences of the Israeli regime's warmongering and aggression for peace and security in the region and the world.

The Iranian diplomat also stated that the continuation of the adventurous and aggressive attacks by the US-led coalition on Yemen aims to destabilize the region and weaken the peace and ceasefire process among the groups and countries involved in the crisis in Yemen.

He held the US and the UK directly responsible for the dangerous and unpredictable consequences of the situation in the region.
