Iran’s TPO Inaugurates Al-Zawraa Stadium
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) Alireza Peyman-Pak inaugurated 16,000-seat Al-Zawraa Stadium in Iraqi capital city Baghdad.
The stadium has been built by Iranian engineers.
The TPO head’s trip to Iraq is aimed at boosting trade ties between the two countries.
Yahya Al-e Eshagh, president of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, made the remarks in a business forum between Iran and Iraq’s Kirkuk province back in December 2021, saying that Iranian and Iraqi governments are determined to develop regional cooperation in all areas.
The old stadium held 15,000 people and was built in 1978. In January 2012, the old stadium was demolished. Al-Zawraa played its games at Al-Shaab Stadium, during the construction of the new stadium.
