Iranians Celebrate Imam Reza's Birthday Anniversary
MASHHAD (Tasnim) – Iranian and foreign pilgrims have gathered in the holy city of Mashhad, northeast of Iran, today to attend programs marking the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shiite Imam.
The programs kicked off on Friday afternoon with tributes paid to the holy Imam (AS).
Ceremonies of the day of birth anniversary include poetry reading and performances starting early in the morning on Saturday, June 11, and being covered live by Iranian national TV and social networks of the holy shrine during the ceremonie.
Meanwhile, the Scientific and Cultural Organization of Imam Reza holy shrine held the closing ceremony of the first preliminary meeting of Imam Reza International Gathering and Interfaith Dialogue in the holy shrine on Friday.
