Brave Iran Fails to Reach 2022 VNL Semifinals
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Poland 3-2 (25-21, 24-26, 25-18, 16-25, 15-7) in the 2022 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) quarterfinals Thursday night.
Amin Esmaeilnezhad scored 22 point, while Poland’s Kamil Semeniuk registered 17 points.
“It was a tough match and we are so happy because we took revenge for the last game, which was also very difficult, and now we are in the semifinals. We have one day off to take a good rest and be ready for USA,” Semeniuk said.
Poland will meet the US and France face Italy in the semifinals on Saturday.
The competition is being held in Bologna, Italy.
Iran finished the 2022 VNL in seventh place.
