Iran Wins One Gold, Two Silvers at U-20 World Wrestling Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran won one gold and two silver medals at the U-20 World Championships underway in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Iman Mohammadi defeated Baiaman Karimov from Kyrgyzstan 6-1 in the final match of the 63kg and won a gold medal for Iran.
Iran’s Abolfazl Choubani was defeated against Armenian wrestler Vigen Nazaryan in the 87kg final. The match ended in a 1-1 draw but the jury ruled the decision in Armenia's favor.
Fardin Hedayati also lost to Mykhailo Vyshnyvetskyi of Ukraine 6-4.
The 45th World U-20 Wrestling Championships is underway in Sofia and will end on Sunday.
Over 600 talented wrestlers are competing in the world championships.
The competition contains three categories namely Men’s freestyle, Greco-Roman, and Women’s wrestling.
