Sanctions Don’t Hinder Iran: President
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Highlighting Iran’s success in making progress in spite of the foreign sanctions, President Ebrahim Raisi said such growing influence has caused enmity towards the Islamic Republic.
In a meeting with the foreign minister of Belarus, held in Tehran on Wednesday, Raisi described closer relations among independent states as a way to nullify the foreign sanctions.
“The sanctions have not stopped and won’t stop us by any means,” he stressed, adding, “Today, Iran is stronger than ever, and the US’ increased hostilities towards the Islamic Republic are because of Iran’s growing power.”
Calling for the immediate implementation of the agreements between Iran and Belarus, Raisi highlighted the capacities for cooperation in the fields of the energy industry and heavy machinery. He also noted that the joint economic meetings signify the two nations’ determination to enhance relations.
For his part, Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei voiced the Belarusian government’s resolve to carry out the agreements with Iran.
He also stated that the road map to the expansion of relations between the two countries has been finalized by the Iran-Belarus cooperation joint commission and its implementation will result in the stable promotion of bilateral cooperation.
