Iran Beats S. Korea at 2022 Asian Water Polo Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran earned a 17-8 win over South Korea at the 2022 Asian Water Polo Championship on Wednesday.

Iran, headed by Aleksandar Ciric, has been drawn along with Kazakhstan, India, South Korea, Uzbekistan and Thailand in Group A.

Team Melli will play Kazakhstan and Thailand in the following days.

Group B consists of Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuwait.

The competition started in Bangkok, Thailand on November 7 and will run until November 13.

The Asian Water Polo Championship serves as qualification for the 2023 World Water Polo Championship to be held in Fukuoka, Japan.

The top two teams as well as host Japan will participate in the world championship.
