Carlos Queiroz Most Likely to Lead Iran at 2023 AFC Asian Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Carlos Queiroz will most likely be appointed Iran national football team head coach again.
Queiroz’s contract with Team Melli ran out at the end of the 2022 FIFA World Cup but he still is an option to lead the Team.
Head of the Iran football federation Mehdi Taj has said Queiroz will return to Iran to answer the experts’ questions about his performance in Doha.
It means that the federation, headed by Taj, is eager to continue cooperation with Queiroz.
Roger De Sa, Queiroz’s assistant, had previously said they would negotiate with the Iran football federation in January.
“We are not sure about our future with Iran national team, but we will resume our negotiation with the federation from January. We hope to continue with the team next year,” De Sa said.
The 2023 AFC Asian Cup will be held in Qatar.
