Persepolis Becomes Champion of IPL First Half Season
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Persepolis football team took the title of champions for the first half of the season of Iran Professional League (IPL).
On Thursday, Persepolis defeated Nassaji 5-1 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Giorgi Gvelesiani gave the host a lead in the seventh minute from the penalty spot but Ayoub Kalantari leveled the score three minutes later.
Mohammad Omri netted a brace in the 21st and 33rd minutes.
Danial Esmaeilifar also scored a brace in the second half in the 51st and 54th minutes.
Persepolis midfielder Mehdi Torabi was sent off in the 58th minute.
