Iran's Fajr Film Festival Announces Winners
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The 41st Fajr Film Festival of Iran announced its winners on Saturday, with Mohammad Ali Bashe Ahangar’s “Metropole Cinema” winning the award for best motion picture.
The closing ceremony of Iran’s major cinematic event was held at Tehran’s Milad Tower on Saturday night, with the minister of culture in attendance.
Metropole Cinema, directed by Mohammad Ali Bashe Ahangar and produced by Hamed Hosseini, was awarded the crystal Simorgh for the best film.
The prize for the best director went to Mohammad Ali Bashe Ahangar for “Metropole Cinema”.
Two men were jointly awarded the crystal Simorgh for best actor.
Majid Salehi won best actor for playing in “Number 10”, and Ali Nasirian for “Seven Orange Blossoms”.
Pardis Pourabedini won the award for best actress for appearing in “Strange”.
The awards for best supporting actress and actor went to Sara Hatami and Sajad Babaei.
The 10-day festival had begun on February 1.
Since 2015, the festival has been held in two separate national and international categories.
