Sepahan, Aluminum Share the Spoils: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan football team was held to a 1-1 draw against Aluminum in an away game in the Iran Professional League (IPL) held in Arak on Tuesday.
Aluminum midfielder Mahmoud Ghaed Rahmati gave the host the lead in the 14th minute with a powerful left-footed shot but his goal was canceled out by Isa Moradi in the 28th minute.
In Ghaemshahr, Nassaji came from behind to draw 1-1 with Esteghlal.
Arsalan Motahari was on target for Esteghlal in the 53rd minute but Ayub Kalantari leveled the score from a superb set-piece in the 68th minute.
Mes Rafsanjan defeated Havadar 1-0 in Tehran. Mehrdad Rezaei found the back of the net in the 43rd minute.
Tractor beat struggling Sanat Naf 3-1 courtesy of a brace from Reza Asadi in the first half and a goal from Mehdi Hashemnejad. Mehdi Mamizadeh scored a late consolation goal for Sanat Naft.
Sepahan sits top of the IPL table with 43 points, one point above Persepolis.
