Marfavi Beware of Australia U-20 Treat at Asian Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Head coach Samad Marfavi warned his Iran players not to underestimate Australia when the sides meet in Group B’s Matchday Two of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2023.
The match will be held at the Istiqlol Stadium on Saturday.
“Australia is a very good side and even though it lost its first game against Vietnam, we must not underestimate the team,” said Marfavi. “We have to stay focused and stick to our tactics to win the match.”
“It was a very technical game against Qatar on Matchday One and we came out on top because we were able to read the game and tweak our tactics in the second half.
“We are very satisfied with the win against Qatar. It was our first match and it was important to set the right tone. We showed that we have the will to fight for the win and that is a positive start.
“Against Australia, we hope to improve on our technical aspect and do better in our finishing to collect the three points,” Marfavi concluded.
