Iran’s Education Minister Quits after Salary Payment Delay
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Minister of Education Yousef Noori resigned on Monday after widespread discontent at a delay in the payment of salaries for teachers at the end of last Persian year in March.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi accepted Noori’s resignation on Monday.
The president has appointed Reza Morad Sahraee, the current president of Farhangian University, as the caretaker minister of education.
Iranian teachers are furious at the Education Ministry’s poor performance after its failure to pay the salaries at the end of the Persian year.
