Amin Mirzazadeh Bags Gold at 2023 Asian Wrestling Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim)– Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Amin Mirzazadeh won a gold medal in the 2023 Asian Wrestling Championships on Sunday.
He defeated Meng Lingzhe of China 2-0 in the final bout of 130kg.
Iranian wrestlers Pouya Dadmarz in 55kg, Iman Mohammadi in 63kg and Nasser Alizadeh in 87kg had previously won two gold medals in the competition.
The Championships started on April 9 in Astana, Kazakhstan and will run until April 14.
The six-day event will determine the seeds for the World Championships to be held in mid-September in Serbia. The World Championships, consequently, will serve as the qualifying event for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
