IRIAF to Stage Aerial Parade on National Army Day
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Various fighter jets of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) will take part in an aerial parade over Tehran’s sky on April 18 to mark the National Army Day.
A whole host of the Iranian Army forces are scheduled to attend nationwide parades on Tuesday morning to mark the country’s National Army Day.
Air Force Commander Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi announced on Sunday that over 40 various fighter jets will perform aerial maneuvers during the military parades over the capital.
The aircraft in the parade will include Saeqeh (Thunderbolt), Kowsar, F-7, F-14, F-4, MiG-29 and Sukhoi fighter jets and bombers, he added.
In the capital, the ceremony will be held at the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini.
A host of Army units are going to put their latest achievements on display during the parades, believed by many military experts as an annual showcase for Iranian Army's latest weaponry and military progress.
The military parades will involve units from the Ground Force, Navy, Air Force and Air Defense Force displaying a broad range of advanced equipment such as missiles, tanks, armored vehicles, rifles, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), fighter jets, radar systems and air defense missile systems.
