Nasrallah, Safieddine Symbols of Honorable Resistance: Iranian Spokesman
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei paid tribute to the late leaders of Hezbollah, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and Seyed Hashem Safieddine, as the symbols of honorable resistance against occupation and aggression.
The Iranian spokesman sent a message on his X account on Sunday as the funeral of Nasrallah and Safieddine was held in Beirut.
Baqaei cited a verse from the holy Quran, "So let those fight in the way of Allah who exchange the life of this world for the Hereafter. And whoever fights in the way of Allah and is killed or victorious - We will give him a great reward.”
“Today the peace-loving people across the globe and West Asia alongside Muslims and Lebanese people pay tribute to two great martyrs, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and Seyed Hashem Safieddine, who devoted their whole life to the cause of humanity & dignity by standing up against brutal occupation, oppression and injustice,” the spokesman said.
“They symbolize graceful resistance against occupation & aggression and heroic support for Palestinian people's legitimate struggle for fundamental right of self-determination & dignified life,” he added.
“They are immortal now; every Muslim, and indeed every man/women of good conscience, will always remember & exalt these devout heroes for their exemplary steadfastness, bravery and sacrifice in support of their fellow Muslims in occupied Palestine and for their patriotism and love of their homeland,” Baqaei noted.
