TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An official in charge of the Secretariat of Supreme Council of Iran’s Free Zones on Saturday said there are plans for the country’s free zones to attract €5 billion worth of both domestic and foreign capital.
Seven free zones of the country have been tasked with conducting feasibility studies on 50 projects as “investment opportunities” in their zones, Masoud Hosseinpour said, adding that these free zones should submit their proposals for the initial preparations of the projects.
Totally, some 370 projects entitled “Investment Opportunities at Free Zones” have been prepared in various fields to attract investors, he noted.
With the development of the projects a huge volume of investment, valued at €5 billion euro, will be attracted by Iran’s free zones, Hosseinpour stated.
He went on to say that launch of these projects will generate new employment opportunities for 23,000 job-seeking people at large.
