Non-Oil Exports from Iran’s East Azarbaijan Customs Up 20% in Two Months

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The export of non-oil products from the customs offices of East Azarbaijan province has registered a 20 percent growth in two months, an official said.

Stating that Iran’s transportation relations with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)’s member states is carried out via Norduz Customs at a border shared between Iran and Nakhichevan of the Azerbaijan Republic through land, the official added that the country’s export of non-oil goods at Norduz Customs showed a 133 and 139 percent hike in terms of weight and value respectively.

Referring to the discharge of about 90 percent of the available trucks at the Customs Office, he noted that 178,000 tons of goods, valued at $34 million, have been exported to Armenia in the first two months of the current Persian calendar year (March to April), recording a 112 and 96 percent hike in weight and value respectively.

According to him, 417,000 tons of goods, valued at $208 millionو were exported from ٍEast Azarbaijan Customs in the current year (started March 21, 2023), showing a 22 and 3 percent growth in weight and value respectively.

Most of these products were exported to the neighboring countries including Turkey, Iraq, Armenia, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan Republic, Georgia, Russia, Afghanistan and Pakistan, he stated.
