Iran Beats Syria at 2023 West Asia U-23 Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Syria 3-1 in Group B of the West Asia U-23 Championship Wednesday night.
Yasin Salmani scored two goals for Iran in the 10th and 45th minutes and Ahmad Shariatzadeh also was on target in the 15th minute at the Karbala Stadium in Karbala, Iraq.
Iran is scheduled to meet Palestine on Friday.
Group A consists of Iraq, the UAE and Jordan and Lebanon, Yemen and Oman are in Group C.
The 2023 WAFF U-23 Championship is the fourth edition of the biennial international age-restricted football championship organized by the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) for the men's under-23 national teams of West Asia.
