Iran, Uzbekistan Outline Comprehensive Road Map in Oil, Gas Sector

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The road map of cooperation between Iran and Uzbekistan in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries was compiled during a visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his accompanying delegation to Tehran.

On mOnday, First Deputy Energy Minister of Uzbekistan Azim Akhmedkhadjaev exchanged views with Iran’s Deputy Ministry of Oil for International and Commercial Affairs Ahmad Asadzadeh in Tehran.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the implementation of provisions of the memorandum of understanding as well as removal of the existing barriers.

High-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Uzbekistan in the presence of the presidents of the two countries issued a joint statement and signed 10 cooperation documents including Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), transportation and transit, pharmaceutical cooperation, cooperating in the fields of standard and insurance, conducting feasibility studies for setting up joint free zones, etc.
