Iran Reaffirms Support for Settlement of Yemen Crisis

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian expressed Tehran’s support for any decision resulting in the resolution of crisis in Yemen.

Amirabdollahian and Mohammed Abdulsalam, the chief negotiator of Yemen’s National Salvation Government, met at the embassy of Iran in Oman on Tuesday.

Praising the great, patient and persevering people of Yemen, the foreign minister said Iran would support any decision made by the Yemeni nation to end the crisis that has engulfed Yemen for years.

For his part, Abdulsalam lauded Iran’s spiritual support for the Yemeni people and for its efforts at ending their miseries.

He also briefed Amirabdollahian on the latest developments in Yemen, the negotiations with Saudi Arabia, and the course of cooperation with the United Nations.

Iran has always rejected a military solution to the crisis in Yemen and has called for the political settlement of the conflict with the participation of all Yemeni parties.
