Iran’s Masjedi Wins Gold at 2023 Para Athletics World Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian shot putter Rashid Masjedi claimed a gold medal at the Paris 2023 Para Athletics World Championships on Tuesday.
Masjedi claimed a gold at the Men's Shot Put F53 with a throw of 8.49 meters.
Ukraine’s Viktor Lehkodukh and Czech Republic thrower Ales Kisy took the silver and bronze medals with 8.36 and 8.27 meters, respectively.
A total of 1,300 athletes from 107 countries compete across 168 medal events in the 2024 Paralympic host city one year before the Games.
