Iran Loses to Spain at 2023 FIBA World Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to world no. 1 and defending champion Spain 85-65 at the 2023 FIBA World Cup on Wednesday.
Iran’s Mohammad Amini tallied 19 points, while Willy Hernangomez contributed 16 points and 9 rebounds for Spain.
Iran had previously lost to Brazil 100-59 and Ivory Coast 71-69 in Group G.
Team Melli will play France on Thursday in Group P and meet Lebanon on Saturday.
The World Cup is being held in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia from August 25 to September 10.
