Iran Exports $110 Million of Pistachio to 44 Countries in 5 Months: Official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Some 16,000 tons of quality pistachio, valued at about $110 million, were exported to 44 countries in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to August 22), the head of the foreign trade office of the Iran Central Rural Cooperatives Organization said.
In this period, 15,981 tons of quality pistachio, valued at $109,714,177, were exported from Iran to 44 countries of the world, showing a 6 percent growth and a one percent decline in weight and value respectively, compared to the same period last year, Seyed Rouhollah Latifi stated.
Twenty-three percent of the total pistachio exported from Iran in this period was sent to the Russian Federation, he noted.
Other major target markets of Iran’s pistachio were Germany, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kyrgyzstan and China, Latifi added.
