Russian Defense Minister in Iran for Official Visit
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Minister of Defense of Russia Sergei Shoigu has traveled to Iran with a high-ranking military delegation.
The Russian general arrived in Tehran on Tuesday at the invitation of Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri.
Shoigu and his entourage are going to hold meetings with top Iranian military officials for talks about closer military cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, promoting defense diplomacy, and the fight against common threats and international terrorism.
In August, Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Force Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari visited Moscow to discuss cooperation between Iranian and Russian ground forces.
