2022 Asian Games: Iran Basketball Defeats Saudi Arabia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s men’s basketball team beat Saudi Arabia 81-66 in the 2022 Asian Games on Thursday.

Meysam Mirzaei led Iran with 17 points, while Saudi Arabia’s Khalid Mohammed Abdelgabar scored 15 points.

Iran, who started the campaign with an 81-57 win over the UAE on Tuesday, will play Kazakhstan on Saturday.

Iran’s basketball team has won back-to-back silver medals in the previous editions.

Iran will meet Kazakhstan on Saturday.

A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the 2022 Asian Games.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
