Palestine’s Steely Resolve Heralds Ultimate Victory over Zionist Regime: Raisi
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi paid tribute to the Palestinian resistance forces for their glorious and courageous operation against Israel, saying the steely determination of the Palestinian nation heralds the eventual triumph over the Zionist regime.
In a Sunday telephone conversation with Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Political Office of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, the Iranian president praised the courageous and victorious operations of the Palestinian warriors in the occupied territories.
Raisi described the authority, honor and pride of the Palestinian resistance as the pride of the Islamic Ummah, his official website reported.
The president stated that the steely will of the Palestinian people and combatants of the path of God promises the final victory of Palestine over the usurping Zionist regime.
"What happened with the victorious operation of the Palestinian warriors in the occupied territories was the fulfillment of the 70-year-old expectation of the Palestinian nation and the Islamic Ummah, and God willing, we will soon pray together in Al-Aqsa Mosque," he added.
Haniyeh, for his part, appreciated the genuine and Islamic positions of President Raisi and the support of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation for the Palestinian resistance.
Presenting a report on the various aspects of the Al-Aqsa Strom operation, he cited the aggression and insult of the Zionist enemy against the holy area of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian worshipers as one of the main reasons for carrying out this operation.
"In this battle, despite the lack of proportionality between the equipment and facilities of the resistance forces with the Zionist army, the Palestinian warriors were able to disrupt the balance of the Zionist regime by using the element of surprise in a large-scale operation," Haniyeh underlined.
"What has been achieved in the battle scene with the Zionist enemy is the blessings of God, the support of the Islamic Ummah and the Islamic Republic of Iran at the head of them, and God willing, it will be completed with the final victory of the Palestinian nation,” the Palestinian leader stated.
The Zionist regime has pounded the besieged Gaza Strip for a second night in a row after formally declaring war against the Palestinian Hamas group. Its military says some 100,000 reserve troops have amassed near Gaza.
Fierce fighting is continuing between the Palestinian fighters and Israeli forces in at least three areas in southern parts of the occupied territories, including a kibbutz in Karmia and in the cities of Ashkelon and Sderot.
The latest death toll stands at 413 Palestinians, according to health officials, and more than 700 Israelis, according to media reports.
Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad said they are holding more than 130 people captive inside Gaza.
Hamas’s surprise operation came after Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in recent days and a record numbers of Palestinians were killed by Israel in recent months.
