Israeli Strikes Hit Syrian Airports, Causing Disruption
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli military strikes targeted both Damascus and Aleppo airports in Syria on Thursday, with preliminary reports suggesting runway damage and service disruption.
In an urgent development, Syrian air defenses have engaged in a response to Israeli aggression directed at the vicinity of Damascus and Aleppo International Airports, according to the Syrian Al-Watan news website.
A correspondent for Al-Mayadeen in Damascus also reported that Syrian air defenses successfully repelled some hostile missiles at Aleppo and Damascus airports, while there was also some damage to their runways.
According to the preliminary reports, the Israeli aggression that targeted Aleppo International Airport resulted in no casualties, and the damage was limited to material items.
As a result of the Israeli aggression on the Aleppo International Airport, flights originally scheduled through Aleppo will now be diverted to Damascus and Latakia airports, according to the Syrian Transport Authority.
