Iran Exports $137 Million Pistachio Overseas in 6 Months
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran exported $137 million worth of pistachio overseas in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to September 22, 2023), showing a 3% hike in value compared to the same period last year.
In this timespan, 20,000 tons of pistachio were exported from the country, registering a seven percent growth in weight compared to last year’s corresponding period.
Pistachio accounted for 11 percent of the value of Iran's total export of agricultural products and also 0.75 percent of the total non-oil exports of the country from March 21 to September 22.
Russia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, India and Kyrgyzstan imported $28 million, $13.1 million, $13 million, $12.8 million and $12.5 million of Iranian pistachio from March 21 to September 22.
