Gaza’s Al-Quds Hospital Targeted in Heavy Israeli Bombardment

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A relentless night of heavy Israeli bombardment has taken a devastating toll on the Gaza Strip, with the primary focus on the attack on Al-Quds Hospital, leading to the destruction of more than 10 residential buildings in its vicinity.

The hospital has become a refuge for thousands, with at least 14,000 people seeking shelter within its walls, many of whom are patients with life-threatening injuries resulting from previous Israeli strikes.

Israeli authorities have issued evacuation orders, but the harsh reality is that most of these people have already lost their homes in the Israeli bombardment, leaving them with few safe places to go.

The impact of the attacks extended to the north of the Gaza Strip, where Israeli troops targeted areas around Al-Azhar University.

In a harrowing video posted on social media, search and rescue personnel were seen frantically searching the site of a collapsed building owned by the Jouma family in the al-Saftawi area in northern Gaza.

Tragedy struck earlier when at least 16 people lost their lives in two successive attacks in northern Gaza. The second attack claimed the lives of some of those who were injured in the first strike, along with others who had rushed to rescue the victims.

The onslaught continued with several deadly attacks carried out by Israeli forces early on Monday, though exact casualty figures in these other attacks remain uncertain.

Health officials in Gaza have reported at least four fatalities and numerous injuries.

As reported by the Gaza government, the Israeli air campaign in the enclave has left a devastating impact, destroying 47 mosques and seven churches since the Zionist regime launched its war on the Strip on October 7.

Gaza’s media office has further indicated that 203 schools and 80 government offices have also been destroyed in the past three weeks.

Salama Maarouf, the director of the media office, revealed that 220,000 housing units have been damaged due to the massive bombardment, and 32,000 buildings have been completely destroyed.

In a deeply concerning development, the government’s media office in Gaza reported that Israel's army threatened to bomb another Orthodox cultural center and a school housing over 1,500 displaced people.

Tragically, more than 8,000 Palestinians have lost their lives in Gaza since October 7, including over 3,000 children and more than 2,000 women. Additionally, at least 20,000 others have sustained injuries.
