Persepolis Suffers Late Draw against 10-Man Sanat Naft: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team suffered a late 2-2 draw at home against 10-man Sanat Naft in the 2023-24 Iran Professional League (IPL) on Thursday. Sanat Naft's Iraqi forward, Ali Yousif, found the back of the net with a header in the 14th minute at Tehran's Azadi Stadium.
Sanat Naft defender Hossein Sangargir was forced to leave the field after receiving his second yellow card before halftime.
Persepolis' Mohammad Omri equalized the match in the 57th minute, and Persepolis' Georgian defender, Giorgi Gvelesiani, converted a penalty in the 75th minute.
Persepolis winger Danial Esmaeilifar scored an own goal in added time.
Earlier in the day, Esteghlal and Shams Azar shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in Qazvin, and Sepahan lost to Malavan 3-2 in Isfahan.
In Tabriz, Tractor beat Nassaji 3-0, and Aluminum and Zob Ahan shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
