Iran’s FM, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Discuss Gaza Developments

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian held talks in Beirut with the Lebanese parliament speaker, Nabih Berri, on the latest developments in Lebanon and Palestine.

During the meeting on Wednesday, they discussed the latest state of the Israeli regime’s war on Gaza and the imminent truce in the region as well as the political process in Lebanon.

Amirabdollahian and Berri exchanged views over ways of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza and getting aid to the oppressed people of Palestine.

Later in day, the Iranian top diplomat warned against failure to extend the four-day truce that has been agreed between the Israeli regime and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas.

“We have previously warned that if the war continues, the opening of new fronts is inevitable. The Lebanese, Syrians, Iraqis, and Yemenis cannot stand by and watch what is happening,” he said.

The Israeli regime has carried out sporadic attacks against southern Lebanon during the course of the war, which has sparked a firefight between the regime and Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement.
