Al Ittihad Will Have Tough Test against Sepahan: AFC
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Al Ittihad FC will be braced for a tough test when it hosts Sepahan in Group C of the AFC Champions League 2023-24 on Monday.
Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad is, irrespective of the result at the King Abdulaziz Sport City, assured of its spot in the Round of 16 while Iran's Sepahan needs three points to be absolutely sure.
Al Ittihad's 2-1 Matchday Five win against AGMK FC of Uzbekistan means the two-time AFC Champions League winner is assured of advancing, even if it finishes as the Group C runner-up.
Al Ittihad, however, will be determined to end the group stage top and will put its best foot forward.
Sepahan, on 10 points, stands a good chance of advancing but will want to make it absolutely sure.
It has enjoyed a good group stage campaign and will not want a premature end to its journey, the-afc.com reported.
